Refine your skills and craft a beautifully balanced matcha set in this advanced two-part course, designed for confident makers ready to elevate their pottery practice.

Across two guided sessions, you will shape and refine your pieces with precision — from wheel throwing to detailed finishing — creating a cohesive and elegant final set.

• Bisque firing (素烧)
• Glaze firing (釉烧): Choose from our wonderful selection of 30+ glazes.
• 2-3 finished pieces to collect

Class 1: Wheel Throwing (2 Hours)
Create your matcha set on the wheel, focusing on form, control, and consistency to achieve well-proportioned pieces.

Class 2: Trimming & Refining (2 Hours)
Refine your work by trimming the base, shaping the foot, and enhancing the overall form for a clean, professional finish.

Option session: underglaze design
If you’d like to create your own unique designs with underglaze, you’re welcome to return once your pieces have completed bisque firing. You can book a studio access session to decorate your work using our range of underglaze colours. The session includes full use of underglaze colours, and a clear glaze will be professionally applied by our studio before the final firing. Or you can choose from our wonderful selection of 30+ glazes, we will apply the glaze for you.

Perfect for those with prior experience, this course allows you to slow down, focus on detail, and produce a refined matcha set that is both functional and beautifully crafted.

In the final 20 minutes, we’ll tidy up together and guide you in choosing a glaze to complete your pieces.
